Bunratty Castle & Folk Park

Bunratty castle dates back to 1425 and was restored in 1954, bringing it back to its medieval
roots, decorated with furnishings from the 15th and 16th centuries. The Folk Park, is a “live” village portraying 19th century life in Ireland including typical Irish buildings found during this time period such as a school, doctor’s house, grocer, and more.

Experience 19th Century Ireland

The Folk Park – the village is on 26 acres and features a ‘live’ village, the village is the portrayal of 19th century village life in Ireland. The village is comprised of typical Irish building found during this time period including a school, Doctor’s house, Grocer, hardware, pottery, post office and pub to name a few, all buildings are furnished to reflect the 19th century time period.

Costumed characters recreate the traditions and lifestyles of the village and bring the village to
‘life’. Characters are on site Mid-April to Mid-September.

Bunratty Castle

Bunratty castle dates back to 1425 and was restored in 1954, bringing it back to its medieval roots, decorated with furnishings from the 15th and 16th centuries.

The castle also holds Medieval Banquets for the evening meal that are open to the public and can be booked for your party to enjoy. The castle closes each night at 4:00pm for the staff to get ready for the banquet.
