OMG Guinness Chocolate Cake with Guinness and Kerrygold Butter Frosting

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 C granulated sugar
  • 1 ¾ C all purpose flour
  • ¾ C cocoa
  • 1 ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 C Guinness beer
  • ½ C vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 C milk

Kerrygold Butter and Guinness Chocolate Frosting

  • ¾ C Kerrygold butter melted
  • 1 C cocoa
  • 4 C powdered sugar
  • 2 TBSP milk
  • C Guinness beer

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350* F.
  • Mix the dry ingredients (first 6 ingredients).
  • Add 2 eggs, Guinness, vegetable oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients. Mix on medium for approximately 3 minutes or mix by hand approximately 6 minutes.
  • Heat milk to steaming - do not scald (boil) it. Add hot milk to last minute of mixing.
  • Pour evenly into prepared cake pan/s.
  • Bake at 350* F for 30 minutes or until your knife in the center comes out clean.
  • Remove when done and allow to cool completely until no longer warm to the touch.

Kerrygold Butter and Guinness Chocolate Frosting

  • Mix together melted Kerrygold butter and cocoa.
  • Add the milk and blend well.
  • Add 1 cup powdered sugar and alternate with the Guinness until all ingredients are incorporated.
